Snowing in Florida? It's possible only in Walt Disney
World! Blizzard Beach is, probably, the strangest
water park in the world. It is designed as a ski resort
and chair lifts and ski jumps have been put to unusual
use here.
Mount Gushmore is the centerpiece of the park.
From its top visitors can see the Tower of Terror at
MGM-Studios.
At 30 feet above the peak of Mount Gushmore, the snow
ski-like water slide known as Summit Plummet.
It is the world's tallest and fastest free-fall water
slide. It launches guests down a 500-foot long water-slide
at speed of around 50 miles per hour.
Snow Stormers: Three flumes (350 feet long)
descend from the mountain's peak and follow a switchback
course through ski-type slalom gates.
Toboggan Racer is 8-lane, 250-foot water slide,
which send guests down from Mount Gushmore racing over
thrilling dips.
Downhill Double Dipper is a downhill racer with
one rider competing against the other for the fastest
time. Speed is up to 25 miles per hour. Time clocks
count off each downhill heat and the runs have audio
equipment that signal the start of each race.
